Last Christmas Card of the Year!

This is definitely my last Christmas card of the year - not that I've actually made all that many this year - I only gave cards to close family members.  But the theme on  the PTW challenge was for the last one, and so here it is!  I used this weeks sketch from Sweetstop Sketches and the paper is a free pack that came with the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.  The image is another one of the LOTV die cut squares and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  I have tried using a different camera today, to see if I can make it look any better!  I think it is a bit sharper and the colours look better, but now I need to work out how to get rid of the date on the bottom corner!

21st Birthday

A quick scheduled post today as by the time you are reading this (hopefully - if my technology works!) I should be away to Mum's.  This card was made very quickly using one of the LOTV die cut squares, paper from Bo Bunny Sweet Tooth Collection, my first Magnolia Doo Hickey die (must say it cuts really well using my big old red Sizzix machine) and a Marianne die for the rose (- it also works in this machine).  The sentiment was computer generated and mounted on a Nestibilities die cut circle.  For some reason or other, I can't seem to get a clear photo when I use this larger (8 x 8) size of card - it must be too big for the close up setting and too small for the far away setting!!  Will have to get back to my old digital camera I think - this one is a mini camcorder, so probably isn't really designed for snaps - its just handy as it links up so easily to my laptop!

Gifts

Just a quick post as I'm rushing off to Kilkeel for a few days.  Here are some little gifts I made - I tried to use Edna's birdhouse idea for little gift boxes here - but I didn't have the bird punch, so mine aren't as nice as hers!!  The papers are BoBunny Snowflake and the card and ribbon is from SU.  The snowflakes are x-cut punches.  Think I will enter them for the Allsorts Challenge which is the theme of 'Blue and Brown' - probably could enter half my cards for this one - blue and brown are one of my favourite colour schemes - if you haven't already noticed!!

Red and Teal Christmas

Another Christmas card today - this one will be entered into the Stampavie challenge - 'Red' and also Papertake Weekly - I'm dreaming of a (red and teal) Christmas.  The image is another LOTV die cut square and the paper is from the BoBunny 'Snowfall' paper pad.  The flowers are die cut using Marianne dies and the ribbon and red card are from SU - 'cherry cobbler.'  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards - as is the large shaped card, and the oval punch is from SU.  The glittery snowflake is from a pack of 10 decorations from ASDA.

Bo Bunny Birthday Card

I thought I would make a birthday card using this new pack of BoBunny paper and a little free stamp set that came with the Quick Cards magazine a while back.  I found a sketch that would suit really well, but when I had it nearly finished, I realized the sketch was from the Penny Black Saturday challenge, not Sketch Saturday as I had thought! - so I can't enter it for the challenge as it doesn't have a Penny Black stamp on it.  I think I might enter it in the PFP challenge as it was coloured using Promarkers - I love the way they all co-ordinate so exactly with the colours in the papers.  This pad has a really lovely mix of colours - turquoise, brown, beige and pink - its called The Sweet Tooth Collection.

Well I finished off my term at school today - its great to have a couple of weeks off, although I intend to go down for a few days to my Mums again soon - the week before Christmas is always very busy - my brother has 75 turkeys to prepare!  I think I'll cater for all the helpers, rather than pluck the turkeys! Needless to say our Christmas dinner will be roast beef - you couldn't face turkey after all that!

Something sweet

I had my last craft class for this year on Thursday night, and as we usually have supper, I tried out something new in my most recent Lakeland purchase - the mini sandwitch tins (you can find them here).  Up until now I have just made little sponges, but tried out these individual Strawberry Delights (a bit like cheesecake without the cheese and even more calories!!) and was really pleased with how well they turned out - almost too nice to eat!

I have just booked my flights to the March Hobbycrafts fair in the NEC - BMI Baby have a special offer on for this weekend - the flights have been reduced to £14.99 - so if anyone else out there needs to book flights to get there - now's a good time to do it.  I haven't been to the spring one before, and as I like to knit and stitch as well as make cards, I'm really looking forward to seeing all that part as well.

LOTV Wedding Card

Another quick and easy card using my LOTV die cut squares.  The paper is from a First Edition pad called 'Bird Song.'  The ribbon and pink card are both from SU - 'Melon Mambo.'  I am entering it into the Papertake Weekly challenge - 'Anything goes' with the added option of something dangly.  The little heart is from a pack I got at the NEC last year - I just added a couple of chain links to it and attached it to the back of the bow.  I can also enter the CCT challenge this week as it is 'Anything goes,' as well.  I have added lots of Stickles to the flowers, dress and heart, so it is really sparkly - but it doesn't show up well in the photo.

Friday sketch challenge

I've been a bit busy of late and haven't had much time to make cards.  I had this LOTV image coloured since last week and so I have used the Friday Sketch Challenge to make todays card.  I didn't make a note of the Promarkers used for colouring, but I think the teal colours were marine, turquoise and duck egg, marsh green for the grass and tan, cinnamon and burnt sienna for the hair.  For the plane I think I used  caramel, sandstone and satin.  The paper is from the BoBunny Snowflake pad and the brown and teal cardstock is from SU.  I can enter the PFP challenge as well as it is 'Celebrations' - so a birthday card will be OK for that.

LOTV Birthday card

Just a quick birthday card as we need to stock up on basic cards for our stand in school.  The quickest way to make cards these days seems to be by using the LOTV die cut squares. This one is from the "Fluffy Bunnies" sheet and I matched it up with some First Edition paper - from the "Dreamcatcher" 6 x 6 pad.  The postmark type stamp is one of the new LOTV clear sets - it has 33 different sentiments, so covers virtually every occasion!  The ribbon is from SU and I've had the buttons, unopened, in a wee packet for so long that I don't remember where they came from - this paper just co-ordinates with them perfectly, so maybe I'll get to use some more of them!  The tiny flower in the centre of the "Happy Birthday" was a puch that came free with one of the magazines ages ago.  I used this weeks sketch at Sweetstop Sketches and I can also enter this weeks LOTV challenge as its 'Anything but a Christmas card!'

Penny Black Challenge

The Penny Black Saturday challenge this week, is 'red, christmas and embossing,' - so this is my entry.  The stamp is actually from a clear birthday set, but my Christmas stamps were all too big to fit this sketch.  The sketch is from Sketch and Stash - my new stash is the red patterned paper - it came from a free pad that came with the last Quick Cards magazine, and also the Happy Christmas sentiment - I bought it from the Craftwork Cards stand at the NEC.  The stamp is really old and the embossing folder is a couple of years old as well.  The corner die is a Marianne one and the felt snowflake strand is from the Christmas wrapping section in Marks and Spencer!  I have added stickles to the embossed snowflakes and corner, but it doesn't really show up in the photo.

Red, pink and white

This weeks challenge on the Magnolia blog is for red, pink and white - not a combination I would normally choose.  I found the paper in a free pack that came with a magazine ages ago and put it with Bazzil 'slipper' pink card.  I think I used a sketch from another blog, but can't find it now!  The sentiment is from SU.

Swirls and Sparkles

This weeks PFP challenge is Swirls and Sparkles, so I made this Christmas card using the sketch on Sketch Saturday.  I can also enter it into this weeks LOTV challenge as it was made using a LOTV stamp - I like this one as its really quick and easy to colour.  The snowflakes are Marianne dies and the swirl is one of the new Memory Box ones.  The little aqua snowflake is an X cut punch and the background paper is from a Papermania pack called "Enchanted Christmas."  For colouring I used Promarkers of course - Blue Pearl, Turquoise, Duck Egg, Aqua, Spice, Honeycomb, Shale, Black, Cool Grey 4 and 2 and the blender pen.

We put some of the rest of the things left over from the craft fair into school today, where we sell some cards.  Hannah ended up selling a few more of her Fimo keyrings and had a few orders for tomorrow!! One of them was for a cow - so here they are!

Craft Fair

The craft fair today went really well - we raised a total of £440 for school - over four times what we made at the same event last year!  We had snow last year and very few customers ventured out, so there was a bigger crowd today.  We sold all of the wee 'hens.'  Here are a few of the other things - little hot chocolate sachets and lipbalm handbags.  The idea for these came from here. The brown, cream and teal Christmas papers are from a 6 x 6 Bo Bunny pad called 'Snowflake' - I loved them so much I went back to CraftsULove to order another pad, only to find they were sold out, as was The Glitterpot.  I will not want to use them now in case they all get used up!!  The colour scheme is exactly like my bedroom - so my kinda colours! Also very suitable for a man's Christmas card.  I will have to try to be brave and start making things in other colours - on my scarf stand today, it was very noticable that they were all shades of blue, green or brown - not a red or pink to be seen!! I need to remember that I'm making them for other people to buy - not just all the ones I like myself! 

Craft Fair Stuff

I haven't had time to make any cards recently as I've been getting stuff ready for the craft fair tomorrow, so I thought I'd show you some more of the things we are selling.  I didn't have enough space to set them out for a photo in my craft room (can you imagine how untidy it is now!) so I had to put them on the island in the kitchen - so the lighting isn't too good and the photos are even worse than usual!

The little felt corsages were die cut with my x-cut dies, layered up and sewn together.  Then I used the hot glue gun to attach a badge bar on the back.  I made the wee boxes to fit using the Score Pal board.        

Chickens and yet more scarves

I have been trying to get more stuff ready for the craft fair on Saturday and so decided to make a variety of wee hen sewing tidies/pincushions.  I tried out a few different colour combinations and then put in some pearl headed pins to match.  I have no idea how much to charge for these - so any advice would be appreciated.

I bought a new kind of scarf wool from The Black Sheep Wools at the NEC - it is called Rocio.  I only bought one ball at the time but liked it so much, I ordered a few more from their website - I must say I would certainly recommend them - they have a very fast and efficient delivery service!  I have knit these three shades now and have still another ball of black, grey and white to do.  I am hoping the teal coloured one doesn't sell - I fancy it for myself!! I tried to order another ball, but it was sold out.

100th Birthday

I was asked to make two 100th birthday cards recently, both for the same man.  As he was originally from Kilkeel, the cards were to have photos of the harbour and the Silent Valley on them.  The harbour photos were not very sharp if you tried to enlarge them, so I decided to have two small ones and used a sizzlets die to make an anchor, to tie in with the nautical theme.  The 'happy birthday' was also a sizzix die and the 100 was die cut using quick kutz dies.  The second card was a little bit smaller and so I just used one photo, a circular happy birthday stamp and a couple of buttons from SU.  I forgot to take a photo until after I had sealed it up in the cello bag - so the quality is even worse than usual!

Someone Special Christmas Card

I have used the Pink Ink sketch to make this Christmas card 'for someone special' - for the LOTV challenge.  The image is an LOTV diecut square matted unto a Nestabilities lacy square and a doily circle.  The paper is from a Forever Friends pack, called 'Santa's on his way.'  The sentiment is also from LOTV and the felt flower was diecut using a Marianne die.  The little string of felt snowflakes is from an M & S garland - I found it in the gift wrap section!  The large shaped card is from Craftwork cards.

White on white

Just a quick post with my entry for the PFP challenge - white on white.  It got me motivated to make another Christmas card - I can't believe that its just over five weeks away and I've so little done - at least the most of the main presents are organized - its just cards and stuff for the craft fair that are not doing so well! 

The cute wee image is from LOTV, stamped with a grey inkpad to make it a bit more delicate and coloured with Promarkers of course - poppy, coral, pine, pear green, cool grey 2, tan, cinnamon, chestnut, soft peach, blush, blue pearl and the blender pen.  The snowflake is a marianne die and the sentiment is from Craftwork cards, matted on to an oval made from the SU punch.  The panel was made from ice gold card, embossed with the snowflake embossing folder and the ribbon has been on my desk for ages - a left over bit from some other project!

More baby shoes!

I had to try another colour in these wee baby shoes - I also made a couple of modifications to the original pattern.  This time I used Debbie Bliss cashmerino wool - lovely and soft.  I used the score pal board to make a little box to put them in.  The flowers and leaves were made using punches, and a sizzix die was used to cut out the word 'baby.'

Baby shoes!!

Some time back I saw a really cute little pair of crocheted baby shoes on Tabbycraft's blog here.  Well, I was so impressed, I just had to have a go!  I searched the internet for a pattern and eventually found one for sale in the Etsy shop here.  After a few attempts, I ended up with these - using baby bamboo yarn. I know they're not just as cute as Tabs, but practise makes perfect - so I think I'll need to make a few more pairs in different colours!  I'm trying to get some stuff made for a cards and crafts stall on the 26th - so they will be ideal for that.

80th Birthday

I have been asked to make an 80th birthday card and so I used the sketch at Sweet Stop Sketches for inspiration.  I think this would be a good layout for some of my quick Christmas cards using the LOTV die cut squares - so you may well be seeing more of this design shortly!  The base card (rich razzleberry), ink, ribbon, embossing folder, rose stamp, label stamp and label punch are all from Stampin Up.  The DP is one of the new packs I got at the NEC, from First Edition (as usual!) - called 'Dreamcatcher.'  The Happy Birthday stamp is a clear one I bought at one of the shows and is invaluable for adding an age to a card as you can just leave the centre of it uninked and then stamp the age in the centre using clear digit stamps.

First Christmas Card

I know - I'm leaving it a bit late to just start making Christmas cards - but you have to start somewhere! Anyhow, I did make a couple at the SU workshops, so its just the first one I made at home! I wanted to use the sketch on the Pink Ink challenge and I've managed to combine it with this weeks LOTV challenge- 'Bright and Sparkly.'  I used paper from last year - not sure what its called, but its by Bo Bunny.  I bought the stamp from LOTV last year and its been coloured with Promarkers.  The snowflakes are die cut - I think its a Marianne die and then they were covered with Stickles (Star Dust).  I added lots of polar white Flower Soft and ultra fine glitter for the snow, although you don't get the full effect in the photo!  I also had a bit of a snow storm in the craft room as I 'lost' the lid for the Flower Soft, and managed to spill it all over the rug!  Oh, you should see the mess!

Thank you

I needed a very quick thank you card with a sewing theme, so used the sketch on the Sweet Stop challenge to make this card using SU card, paper and seam binding ribbon in the rose red colour.  The little buttons are from Papermania I think.  The stamps are from a Woodware clear set and have been coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is also from a Woodware set and the puches are from SU.

Welcome Little One

I have been meaning to use this long neglected stamp for the PFP challenge all week, but I'm a bit last minute - as usual! Anyway, when I saw the new Sketch and Stash sketch for this week, I thought I could combine both challenges.  So my neglected stash is the giraffe stamp - I think I bought it about two years ago and then realised that the sentiment which was on the card illustrating the stamp, didn't actually come with it - so I had to make it on Word Art - yes it has taken me about two years to get round to it!  The brown pearls are one of my purchases from the NEC on Friday - so this is the first time I've used them.  The DP is a retired one from SU and I have used burnt sienna, cinnamon, tan, olive green, pear green, lime green, gold, mustard, vanilla and blue pearl Promarkers, together with the blender pen.

SU Workshop

Had a great day out at the NEC. Arrived back before 11 o'clock, with sore feet, no money and a big bag of all sorts of goodies! - I was amazed we got through the airport security with all the stuff we had bought! It was great to get it all fitted in to one day - we flew with BMI baby and got the ten to seven flight home, so we even had time to stop at Friar Tucks for a late tea on the way back down the road.  On Saturday we went to a SU workshop where we made these four items, so I have really only got round to getting my NEC purchases sorted today!  Maybe I'll get back soon with a card made from some of the new stuff - and get a chance to try out the colouring tips gained from Jackie on the LOTV stand - we tried to persuade her to come to NI for one of the colouring workshops - heres hoping!

Oh dear!!

I was asked to make a card for an 18th birthday at very short notice, so decided to follow this weeks sketch at Sweetstop Sketches and quickly put together this card, using the First Edition Summer Breeze 6 x 6 pad and some baja breeze cardstock from SU.  Have you spotted the mistake yet? - I printed out Happy 21st Birthday, instead of 18th! - how stupid - I had given it to the person who asked me to make it and thankfully she spotted the mistake before giving it to the recipient - so now its back home to be 'repaired'!!  I wasn't all that happy with the way it turned out anyhow - perhaps pale pink and blue would be better left for baby cards - a bit insipid for an 18th - not doing too well these days, am I?!  Maybe I'll get inspiration at the NEC on Friday.

Running very late

I think I'm just about in time for this weeks PFP challenge.  It was something for a child, so this quick baby card should suit ok.  I was trying to make a card which would do for either a boy ir a girl, but maybe green and yellow aren't really all that suitable for a baby card - oh well, its done now.  I used apricot, honeycomb, buttercup, ivory and a grey promarker for the colouring, but I think this cute duckie image, would have looked better on a CAS card with a white background - oh well, maybe next time!

Today my niece emailed through some pics of the type of wedding stationery she'd like - so now I can make up some samples - looking forward to that - at least I've plenty of time now to get organised - she gets married next September.  Hopefully I'll be able to source some of the stuff we'll need at the NEC on Friday - just 3 days to go now!!

LOTV Birthday Card

Got back from Mum's on Thursday, but only finding time to make a card now.  It was quite an adventure driving down through all the floods on Monday evening, thankfully the journey back was less eventful!  While I was there I got to babysit my little twin nieces (aged 15 months) and so it was lovely to spend a wee bit of time with them (and back to nappies, bottles and spoonfeeds - times 2!!).  Anyhow, now I'm home, I have got up to date again with the washing, ironing, etc and here is my entry for this weeks LOTV challenge - its a nice straightforward sketch by Bev.  I have used First Edition "Sweet Owl" paper, matted onto SU "close to cocoa" card (now retired).  The image is one of the LOTV cute squares, with Glossy Accents added to make her necklace shine, and some stickles on her dress and on the centre of the punched flowers and leaves.  I think it would have been better to wait for it to dry before taking the photo - but as usual, I was a bit too impatient!!

Scarves, scarves and more scarves

We're hoping to take a stall and sell some cards etc at the Farmers market at the end of November, so I have been knitting/crocheting lots of scarves.  If we don't get them sold, - guess what everyone will be getting for Christmas presents this year?!  Sorry about the quality of the photos - I will have to get a new camera I think - or maybe go on photography course!!

Fimo Bears

I have scheduled this post as hopefully by the time you're reading this I will be back down with my Mum for a couple of days.  So just so that you have something to look at while I'm gone, here are some of Hannah's little bears made from Fimo!  She loves making things from Fimo and I'm sure that's why my electricity bill is so high - she keeps putting on the oven to cook these tiny wee things!

SU Workshop

Went to a SU workshop in a friends house on Friday night.  We made this little cracker and card, using the bird punch and old olive, cherry cobbler and chocolate chip card and ink.  I had to order some new stuff of course - I really needed it! I have ordered some of the stock of the new 'In colours' - so waiting impatiently now for them to arrive - the blue shades are really lovely - my kinda colours! 

Sugar Nellie card

This card was made following the CAS sketch on the Sugar Bowl challenge.  I don't really do CAS - it was very tempting to stick on a few wee flowers or a couple of gems in the top left corner.  I will have to try to get the hang of it before I start my Christmas cards - yes, I know I really should have started before now - each year, on Christmas eve, I always convince myself I will be more organised next year - but it never happens!  Anyway, the paper used was from SU, a Suger Nellie stamp, coloured with Promarkers and her skirt and top were paper pieced - from the same SU pad.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from Heritage stamp company and it was punch out using the end of a SU label punch.  The swirls are Sizzix dies.

Anniversary card

This card was made using the sketch from this weeks Sketch n stash challenge.  I had coloured the LOTV image (using Promarkers) a few weeks ago for another challenge, but was not able to finish the card as I went down to be at the hospital with Dad.  It was a suitable shape for the sketch, so I finished it off today and also found that the card could be entered in the LOTV challenge for this week - as I have used ribbon, lace, flowers and gems.  The papers are my usual First Edition ones - from the Sweet Owl and Summer breeze pads, the sentiment stamp is also by LOTV and was punched out and matted unto a Nestabilities scalloped circle.  The brown lace is from Panduro and the pink one is from a little gift shop in Belfast.  The neglected items used, were the pink flowers - I bought them during the summer of 2009 in a little shop beside the docks in Ellesmere Port, when we stopped overnight in a hotel there on our way to Stratford-on-Avon for our holidays.  They came in a little jar with a screw on lid and just looked too nice to use up!!

Pink Ink birthday card

Here is a birthday card I made using the Pink Ink sketch for this week.  The image and patterned paper are from a Fizzy Moon pack.  I cut around the image then mounted it unto a Nestabilities circle.  The corners were die cut and the ribbon bow and some of the flowers were from Craft Creations.  I have got my wee SU punch now which fits the oval sentiments from Craftwork Cards.

Back again

I am back home after nearly three weeks away.  Unfortunately Daddy did not recover and passed away on the 11th, just two weeks after having the stroke.  I never imagined when I made his birthday card a few weeks ago, that it would be for the last time.  Mum's birthday was just three days after the funeral and I made this quick card when I got back home.  My computer wasn't working until today so I wasn't able to follow any of the sketches.  The image is LOTV cute squares, the paper is MME 'Street Market,' the plain card is SU 'certainly celery' and 'baja breeze,' the border punch used is EK success 'Morrocco Lace' and the flowers are probably Prima ones - bought from Crafts U Love ages ago.

Sorry I have not been around for a while - my Dad has suffered a very severe stroke and we are spending most of our time these days at the hospital.  Don't know when I'll get back to blogging.

Sugar Nellie Autumn

The Sugar Bowl challenge for this week is a sketch with the theme of Autumn, so I made this 'Thank You' card using one of the first Sugar Nellie stamps I ever bought - I think she's called Maggie.  I used Promarkers to colour and the Autumn coloured papers are from a set from SU called 'Sweet Pea' - there are some lovely papers in this stack - as its a retired one, you don't like to use them all up! - although there are 48 double sided 12 x 12 pages, so I shouldn't run out of it too quickly!  The 'Thank You' is also from SU, cut out with a Nestabilities die.  The flowers and leaves were punched from the DP.

Anniversary card

The PFP challenge this week was a sketch, so I have used it to make this anniversary card.  The stamp used is a Sarah Kay one from Stampavie and as the theme for their challenge this week is 'love', then I can enter it there as well.  The papers used are from the First Edition pad 'Love Letters' - I see First Edition have some new Christmas papers out, so they will be on my list for the NEC (if I can manage to wait that long!!)  I just love all their paper.  I used maroon, antique pink, dusky pink, sunkissed pink, cornflower, blue pearl, denim blue, blush, vanilla, ivory, chestnut, tan, caramel, cocoa and sandstone promarkers.  The label stamp and punch are from SU, the decorative corner is a die (Marianne, I think), the lace border punch used is a MS one and the 'Happy Anniversary' stamps are from two different clear sets - can't remember who made them - they should put their names on the little plastic cover - I normally throw out the rest of the packaging!

Get well card

Here is another card I made using the sketch catalogue on Sketch and Stash.  I have used a new stamp from Stampavie.  The DP (First Edition, 'Desert Blooms') is one of my most recent craft purchases also, although I have used it on a few cards already - the colours are different from my usual greens and blues, and very appropriate for this time of year.  The sketch is number 18 and I'm really finding these sketches very useful.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and the little label for the sentiment was punched using SU punches.

Our little cat is making good progress - limping around now looking for lots of attention.  It's just going to be difficult  to keep her from jumping for the next few weeks.

Beary special

This card is my entry for this weeks promarker challenge - the theme this week was 'beary special.'  The image was one of the free pack from LOTV - they are really lovely, I'm getting great use out of them.  It was coloured using gold, tulip yellow, mustard, vanilla, umber, caramel, marsh green, lime zest, blush and pearl blue promarkers , together with the blender pen.  I rotated the sketch from sweetstop sketches so I can enter it in their challenge as well and the CCT one as it is 'anything goes' this week.  The DP is a retired set from SU - you know the feeling when you can't get anymore of it and you really don't want to use the last bit of it all up!! There are other sheets in the pack with pink and green colours and I've hardly used any of them at all.  The flowers are made with a 'sun' punch and the leaves are die cut.  The brown centres are card candy and the sentiment is from SU, punched with a 1 inch scalloped circle punch.
Pussy cat continues to make progress - she can now walk to the fridge and miaow for ham, instead of eating her own food from the bowl - yes, she's definitely starting to improve!

Poor wee Whiskers is home now and eating a little bit better - but she is not very happy at being shut up in a 'cage' at night.  She is not allowed to jump or climb so we have to lift her up and down off the chair but at least she can hop around a little bit when she's on the floor.  We have to try to stop her from jumping for about 4 weeks - so its going to be quite a trial - hopefully she'll get used to it soon.  She seems to be fairly comfortable when she's lying down, so at least thats something.

My wee needlework class starts up again next week - so here is one of the little reminders I sent out to those who normally come.  The little owl and background paper are my first digital download purchase!

Sketch Saturday

Just a quick post to make sure I get this card up in time for this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge.  I really like the sketch challenges as I like to have new ideas for putting my cards together and tend to get a bit stuck in a rut at times.  This one uses some of the paper from First Edition 'Love Letters' pad and the image is one of the free ones from LOTV that came with a magazine earlier this year (can't remember which one).  The ribbon and ink are from SU (rich razzleberry colour), as is the congratulations stamp.

Have to go now and collect the cat from the vets.  We're hoping she'll heal up OK without the operation, so she's coming home now to see how she gets on.  We are going to have to get some kind of large cage so that she will not try to climb for a few weeks, to give it a chance to heal.
