Whiff of Joy wedding card

I saw this lovely paper by MME ('Lost and Found') and thought it would be ideal for wedding cards.  It matched up really well with SU Rose red card and Melon mambo ribbon.  The lace is from when I used to do a lot more sewing - I found quite a bit of different pieces of cream and white, all wrapped up round pieces of cardboard, and thought I could use it on my cards.  The stamp is from Whiff of Joy and I've used Promarkers for the colouring. I used Stickles to highlight the vail and little flowers on the back of the carriage.  The Whiff of Joy challenge is 'Love is in the Air' and so I'll enter this card.  I am also entering the Papertake Weekly challenge which is 'Happy highlights' - that is to highlight using glitter or glossy accents.

Birthday mice!

Another birthday card today - using one of the LOTV mice stamps, coloured with Promarkers as usual.  For the layout, I have used this weeks sketch on the Sketch Saturday challenge.  The patterned paper is from a DCWV called Nana's Kitchen and the pink gingham paper is from a 'Sweet Wishes' pad that came free with one of the Papercraft Essentials magazines.  The lace came from a little gift shop in Belfast.  The flowers an leaves are made using punches and the sentiment is from Craftwork cards.  My needlework class starts back again this week - so I will need to get back to some cross stitch or something - hopefully I'll get time to make a few cards - particularly as I got some new paper in the post over the last few days and I will need to get using some of it!

Lavender and lace

The LOTV challenge for this week is lavender and lace, so I made this birthday card using one of their cute squares.  I just found out they are opening a shop soon in Leeds and we are going on holiday to York, so will be able to fit in a wee visit there I think!! I followed the sketch on this weeks Friday Sketch challenge.  The paper is First Edition, 'Dreamcatcher' and the large flower was made from the mulberry paper using the Marianne 3-D rose die.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to made the paisley design on the white card and the sentiment is from Craftwork cards.

Sketch Saturday Wedding card

Another wedding card today - using one of my LOTV cute squares and paper from the First Edition pad - "Sweet Owl".  The pink ribbon is from SU and the sentiment is from a set of clear stamps from LOTV.  The sketch is this weeks challenge for Sketch Saturday.

Wedding card

This card was made following the Simon Says sketch for next week.  I think it will also do for the Papertake challenge as it is buttons, bows, bling and blooms - and this card has all except for the buttons.  The image was coloured using Promarkers the stamp and die cut are Magnolia and the paper is an ancient 6 x 6 pad by K & Company (Isabella), mounted on a retired SU card (ruby red).  We've been baking more than card making these days - Hannah is practising for her Home Economics controlled assessment - I think by the time she's finished I'll be about a stone heavier - after all, someone has to eat up all this stuff!

Back again

Twice in one day - can you believe it! I wanted to get this card in on time for a couple of challenges - LOTV and Sketch and Stash.  The paper is my new product - it came free with the latest Quick cards magazine.  As usual, I used Promarkers for colouring and the sentiment stamp is from SU.

Just Magnolia

I made this birthday card using the sketch on this weeks Magnolia challenge.  Most of my Magnolia figures are sitting down and so weren't the right shape - but I found this one and matched her up with these Bo Bunny Sweet Tooth papers.  The sentiment is from LOTV and the pink seam binding ribbon is from SU.  I paper pieced her dress - thinking I could enter the Allsorts challenge - but I was a bit too late!!  Sorry about the photography - the card is actually straight, although it looks anything but in this photo!!

Sugar Bowl Birthday

Just a quick post with my card for the latest Sugar Bowl challenge - its a fairly straightforward sketch and I've used one of my first Sugar Nellie purchases - although I can't remember what its called - I don't think its available anymore.  The papers are all from the First Edition 'Love Letters' pad.  The buttons are from Papermania and the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards, mounted on a SU punched oval.  The image was coloured with Promarkers as usual.  I am also entering it into the Simon Says challenge which is for Spots and/or Stripes - I have both!!

Yet another retirement card

This is the final card on my 'to do' list - now I can go back to making general ones for sale in school and the chemist.  I had to make up some sample wedding invititations for my niece as well - obviously I can't show you them - I even forgot to photograph them - so whichever one she chooses, I'll have to get it back to see what I put on it!! I'll need to get supplies ordered up so that I can get them all made during my Easter holidays - the wedding is in September.

Back to this card - the image is a LOTV die cut square, mounted onto a Nesties lacy square.  The papers are from a First Edition pad called 'Love letters' and the little flowers are die cut from felt using X-cut dies 'Bloom' and 'Flower'.  The leaf ribbon is by Tilda from Panduro Hobby.  The 'Take it easy' sentiment is form a Woodware clear Get Well set and the retirement sentiment is from a clear set by Words Like Honey.  I will enter it into this weeks PTW challenge 'Die cut special.'

Retirement card

Back again - went up to Co Antrim for the weekend and got a wee visit to the Craft Factory for a few new supplies.  We also called at Crafters and Co but were disappointed to find it shut - they must still be on holiday.  I met up with a couple of classmates from College days and they still recognised me - so I was encouraged by that - I mustn't look as old as I thought!!
Here is another card I have been asked to make.  I used the Friday Sketch Challenge and a Papernation stamp.  The doily die is a Marianne one (I think) as are the little flower dies.  The paper is First Edition 'Dreamcatcher' and the buttons came free with Papercraft Essentials.  As usual, I used Promarkers for colouring.

65th Birthday

I haven't used any of my decoupage sheets for ages, so decided to use one for this birthday card.  The background paper is from a First Editions pad called 'Dreamcatcher' - one of my purchases at the NEC.  The sentiments have been printed on the computer and the butterfly was made using a punch.  The border punch is by EK Success and the butterfly embossing folder is by Crafts Too.  I think I will enter it into the PTW challenge which is 'Anything Goes' this week (as is Simon Says challenge), with the theme of 'New' - the sentiments were the first ones made using my new printer!  I have had major printer problems for the past few months - I got a wireless printer last spring and it worked fine until recently, when an automatic update messed up my laptop.  Well DH got it sorted, but then the printer wouldn't work.  We ended up getting a new printer last week, but it refuses to print wirelessly either - I managed to get it to work yesterday through the USB and had to rearrange my craft room so that it could be connected up.  It seems to be a problem with a miniport - something to do with Windows 7 I think.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone!  Sorry I have not been around for a while - I have been trying to get some wee jobs done around the house while we were off school, including a big tidy up in my craft room - so the desk was not available for making cards! - Mind you, there's still plenty of work to be done, but I have been asked to make a few cards for people recently.  This one has been made using the PTW sketch.  The image is a Paper Nation stamp, coloured with Promarkers.  The paper is from a little 6 x 6 pack, but I've lost the cover and can't remember who made it.  The retirement sentiment is from a little clear set by Words Like Honey and the circular one is from LOTV.  The border punch is by Fiskers and the plain blue card is a retired colour from Stampin Up.
