Yet another Get Well!

I have been asked to make a few cards recently including a number of get well cards - this is the final one and then I'll be able to make some 'just for fun' cards.  For this one I used the layout on the Sketchy Challenges. The paper is from  Nitwits pad from LOTV and the stamp is by Great Impressions, coloured with Promarkers.  The ribbon and oval punches are from SU.  The pearl flower embellishments are from Dunelm Mill.
Dreadful wishy washy photo - it has a lot more colour in it than this IRL!

Get Well Wishes

Another quick get well card - this time using the Mojo Monday sketch.  The kraft card came from Anna marie designs, the cream floral card from Craft Creations and the sentiment stamp form LOTV.  The flowers, leaves and ovals were all made using punches and the basket was made using a Quickutz die.  The ribbon was from MeiFlower - I have four large rolls - I bought it for wedding stationery but the bride-to-be changed the colour scheme, so I'm now trying to find uses for it!!  The Simon Says challenge is 'Anything Goes' this week, so I can enter it there as well.

Get well card

I used this weeks Sketch and Stash layout for this quick get well card.  The paper is from a Nitwits pad from LOTV and the image is also from LOTV - it came in a free pack that came with a magazine ages ago (my old stash).  The aqua lace and the dies used for the corners and scalloped oval are also quite old stash.  I used Promarkers for the colouring (some of these are relatively new ) and the sentiment stamp is from a clear set by LOTV.  The oval punches are from SU.

Back again

Sorry I've been AWOL recently - just got back this evening after a few days at Mum's.  We were down to help with the awful job of plucking turkeys! (75 of them!) - so a different kind of craft (not a very nice one!- didn't think a photo would be appreciated!). Since I got home Hannah and I have had to do a wee bit of baking as we are having supper after our carol service in church tomorrow night.  I made some German biscuits and Hannah cut the snowflakes out of ready to roll icing and then sprayed them with a shimmery spray stuff - edible stuff - not the type you put on cards!! It didn't all get off to a great start though - I had left the mixer working away and was doing something at the other side of the kitchen when there was a loud crash followed by silence.  When I looked round the cake mixer had vanished - it had 'walked' itself over to the edge of the worktop and toppled over onto the tiled floor, pulling the plug from the socket. Unbelievably it was still working when I plugged it in again - Kenwoods are built to last - at least they were 20 years ago! (It will soon be 20 years old!)

We got great cutters out of our new Lakeland shop, recently opened and greatly appreciated, in our local shopping centre - I've been a mail order customer for years now, but it great to be able to go in and actually see all the stuff - its just a pity they stopped stocking crafty things a few years ago!
I've a few card orders still to do this week and then I will be able to relax and make a few just for fun ones, before the next major project begins - the next set of wedding stationery!

WOYWW 184

On my desk this week you will see lots of card and lace - all ready for making another set of wedding stationery in my Christmas holidays.  We get two weeks off school so I hope to get the invites made then.  I won't start 'til after Christmas as I have to go down to Mum's for a couple of days at the end of next week to help with the turkey plucking - my brother has over 70 of them! - such a horrible job - needless to say it will be roast beef and ham on my menu on the 25th!!
I had some company in my craft room last night - I think she thought if she hid under the basket I would never notice that she was lying up on my nice M & S bean bag!

First Christmas card

No - I don't mean a card for a baby's first Christmas - I literally mean the first of my Christmas cards to post - I thought I was doing well - the last date for 2nd class is just over a week away, so I've plenty of time - but this one has to go to Africa, and it should have been posted last Friday ...ooops! I'm always very last minute about these things - every year I intend to do better, but I can't get motivated to make Christmas cards in my summer holidays (like some super organised people!!) and then everything else takes over and the cards get pushed back to the last minute!
Anyway, I have used this Magnolia stamp I won in one of the recent challenges (she's from last years Christmas collection), coloured her with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, paper pieced her dress and hat, then added some shading with a dark grey Prismacolor pencil.  The papers, card (cherry cobbler) and ribbon are all from SU and the snowflake and doily were both made using dies (Marianne ones, I think).  I followed the layout on this weeks Sketch and Stash challenge (new stash is the paper and stamp, old stash is the dies) and I am also entering it in the PFP challenge (Happy something), I love Promarkers (Anything Goes), Simon Says (Snowflakes), CCT (Red and Green) and Simply Magnolia (Tis the Season).

Memo pads

Just a quick post today - busy preparing things for our last craft fair on Saturday.  Here are a few of the little memo pads I made using various pieces of patterned paper, card, ribbon and my poinsettia die and SU border punch.  The little pearl heart buckles came from MeiFlower and the pearls were made with the Viva pearl pen.  The memo pad was a large refill one from Tesco (which I divided up into 4 pieces) and the mini pens are from Asda (they come in a wee pack of 8 different colours.  I have already sold 4 of these pads at my craft class last Thursday night - they were bought as I made them!! (together with another couple of dozen mini crackers!)  The Papertake Weekly challenge this week is 'Anything Goes' with the option of making a gift, so I will enter it there.

Felt bookmarkers

Just a few more felt bookmarkers for our next craft sale - we were told we didn't have anything suitable for boys so I decided to make a couple of 'boy' bookmarkers this time! I also made another 20 mini crackers - that's over 70 now altogether - they have sold really well!

WOYWW 183

Wellies! - times two - part of my nieces Christmas presents.  I decided to make a wee felt flower to hang from the back of each welly so that they would be able to tell the difference - K for Katie and L for Lauren.  They are only two and a half, but it should help them to learn their initial letters (typical teacher!!) The letters were cut using Sizzix dies from SU, borrowed from my friend.  The bows were already on the wellies, so it was easy to attach the felt shapes. I'd love a pair of these myself, but they don't come in size 4! Mind you, I'm not sure my students would want to go out on fieldwork with me if I arrived in a pair like this!

The sides of the desk are piled high with pieces of paper on the left and stamps waiting to be cleaned on the right.  I have been busy making more stuff for our next craft sale - so busy that I didn't even have time to join in WOYWW last week! If you want to join in the fun this week, visit Julia's blog HERE.

Anything but square

The Stampavie challenge for this week is Anything but Square, so I am entering this shaped card - the blank card is from Craftwork cards.  The stamps, ink, large flower shaped punch and pink and green card stock are all from SU and the Happy Birthday was cut using a Sizzix die.  The small flower and leaf punches are from Woodware.  The wee green pearl things in the centre of the large flowers came from Dunelm Mill.

Back again!

I think its about time I updated my blog - its not that I haven't been making anything all week, but rather that I just haven't had time to upload photos etc - busy, busy! Anyway here is one I would like to enter for the I love Promarkers challenge - Anything Goes.  The stamp I've had for ages and I used Promarkers to colour it. The kraft card and nice teal leathery paper both came from the NEC and I got the wee buttons at the craft show in Belfast.  The photography is very poor - think I had too many lights on!

DH got his diploma in Christian Education last night - so we got the chance to dress up in our gowns - pity he didn't look a bit happier to have finished all his studies!!
